Description

Ceramic relief on the façade of the Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration. The three parts of the façade each show their own theme:

Banking
- Athene with ...
- A bank, inscribed pankki
- A banker.
- A girl putting money in her piggy bank
Trade
- Hermes, the god of tradesmen, with scales.
- Tradesmen from different parts of the world dancing together.
- An ocean vessel
- A globe.
Industry
- A wood worker
- Two stonemasons
- A miner

Annotation

The relief refers to the education provided by the school provides and to its role as a centre of economic research.

Sculptor

Michael Schilkin (Trubino, Russia 1900 - Helsinki 1962), Finnish-Russian ceramist (Wikipedia).
