Description

Statue of the Virgin Mary Immaculate on a colum. The statue was commissioned at the initiative of Father Chacobo Juste of the Pauline Fathers of San Agustín, and financed by popular subscription and the Escuela Normal de Maestras de San Cristóbal de La Laguna. It was brougto Tenerife in 1929, going through different vicissitudes in times of the Republic: when the program of lay education was implemented, it was deposited in a private house to avoid its installation. After an unsuccessful attempt to place it on the facade of the church of San Agustin, it was finally erected in May 1960 in its current location.
