Monument for the 'Chicharro'

Chicharrero is a name given to the inhabitants of the inhabitants of Santa Cruz de Tenerife by those form La Laguna in reference to the former eating the cheap fish 'chicharro'.

Description

Sculpture of a fish on a wave.

Originally the sculpture was donated to the city by the Venezuelan Cultural Association, the "Liqui-Liquis" as a gift to the city of Santa Cruz and the island of Tenerife.
The present sculpture is a replica of the original one, made by the students of the Escuela de Industriales de Caracas, that was vandazalized and removed years ago.
