Commemorative plaque with portrait placed on a slanting stone table in front of the Red Cross building.
Agustín de León was a military sailor from the Red Cross in Garachico who gave his life to save from the others on the 13 January 1987. He was swept away by a great wave when he tried to rescue more people, as he had done a moment before.
