Description

Five meter high sculpture of Carrara marble, showing a man with wine barrels. The sculptor used lava from the volcanic flows in the area for the base. Lorenzo Dorta and Augusto Martell participated in the design of the base and the surroundings.
It commemorates the struggle of the Canarian harvesters against the English monopoly on Canarian wine production, which ended in 1666 with the assault on the wine cellars of the port of Garachico.
