Description

Statue of "an individual looking at the sea and the horizon, with a blindfold." It is designed to honor the individual as the seed of democratic societies, and as a tribute to our parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, etc.

El origen de esta escultura es el de homenajear a las
generaciones de ciudadanos que con su esfuerzo y trabajo
anónimo, han conseguido el nivel de biénestar en el que
vivimos. La escultura está dedicada a esas generaciones
de canarios (nuestos antepasados), en gran parte
analfabetos, que con su trabajo anónimo y diario
empujaron a sus hijos a mejorar en formación y recursos,
lo que consecuentemente ha generado e desarrollo de
nuestros municipios y nuestro actual nivel de bienestar.
Por eso la representación es anónima en el rostro, al
acercarnos a una figura entre el hiperrealismo y el
expresionismo.

The aim of this sculpture is to pay tribute to the
generations of citizens who, with their effort and hard work,
have helped us achieve the level of well-being we now
benefit from. This sculpture is dedicated to the generations
of Canarians (our ancestors), most of them illiterate who,
through their dedication and motivation, encourages their
children to improve their education and resources, which
has consequently promoted the development of towns and
boosted our current level of well-being. This is why the
face in this image is anonymous, resembling a figure
somewhere in between hypeerrealism and expressionism.
