Description

Polyester statue of a shepherd with his dog as a homage to Jandía's great livestock vocation .

Often is suggested the statue represents Gustav Winter with his dog. Winter (Zastler, Schwarzwald, Germany 1893 - Las Palmas de Gran Canaria 1971) was a German engineer, who worked since 1915 for Spain and was active in different projects in Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria. He had a house near Cofete.

When we visited Cofete on 15 April 2018 we found only two emply socles, and by looking over the edge of the platform we saw the damaged dog...

We haven't found any information when it was destroyed. The last dated photo on internet is from 1 April 2015, thus it disappeared between April 2015 and April 2018.
