Description

Sculpture of a Canarian with a stick. On 29 April 1483 Chief Bentejuí and his shaman-advisor the Faycán of Telde committed suicide by jumping off a cliff while shouting Atis Tirma ('for my land'). With their dead the armed and organized resistance against the Spanish conquest ended
