The Gildhaus was built in Neorenaissance style in two fases, 1882-83 and 1892-93 fitting to the Haus zum Breiten Herd for which it was an extension. The left wing has in the frieze the date 1883, and in the top the year 1892.
A stone relief frieze between the first and second floor of the Gildehaus shows in four fields the four cardinal virtues as allegorical women sitting in a landscape.

In the frieze is a shield with the text: auctor carol walther, mercator, ædificator carol. fruehling arch. consiliar. a.d. 1883
In the façade of the left wing of the house are three niches above each other with statues:

The right wing has a gable topped with a statue of a man with a halbert, flanked by putti blowing on horns. In the tympan a head of a bearded man.
