Description

Stone statue of a Roman soldier armed from head to toe with the insignia of the Roman Republic and holding the city flag of Erfurt in his right hand. The statue is often described as a Roland figure.

Israel van der Milla (c. 1540-1606), Dutch sculptor in Erfurt.
