Statues - Hither & Thither

 

Description

Seven statues on consoles on the faëade of Petershof. They depict on the one the Leipzig guilds but have faces of personalities involved in the construction.
All statues are replicas made in 1995 by Gläser.

Musik / Music Man with lyre Ludwig Fraustadt, director of the construction.

Kunstgewerbe / Arts and Crafts Man with bowl Felix Geissler, Councillor of Commerce.

Handel / Trade: Man with Mercury's staff Hans Kroch (Leipzig 1887 - Jerusalem 1970), banker (Wikipedia).

Staat und Recht / State and law. Man with fasces Karl Rothe (Leipzig 1865 - Leipzig 1953), Lord Mayor of Leipzig, 1918-1930 (Wikipedia).
