die in schweren Zeit mit der Arbeit ihrer Hände
den Grundstein zum Wiederaufbau der zerstörten Stadt legten.

Annotation

The statue commemorates the women who cleared the Dresden city of ruins after 1945. The original statue of 1952 was cast iron, in 1968 this iron statue was replaced by a bronze. The model for the statue was Erika Hohlfeld.
