Archangel, the field commander of the Army of God. He is often depicted slaying Satan represented as a dragon, and with a shield with text quis ut deus (Who is like God?, a literal translation of the name Michael).
Statue of St. Michael as a men holding a pair of scales and standing on a serpent. At the church's entrance is a relief showing a more common depiction of St. Michael as an angel slaying the serpent with his sword.
