Description

Bridge of the early 20th century, for which were re-used the statues on the 1776 bridge. One of the statues is larer replaced by a new one, the others are replaced by copies.

  3. Merkur / Mercury, with his winged had and a purse in his hand, his other hand rests on a package.

    This statue was replaced, as the text says:

the bridge of statues

Former outer bridge in front of the second
town gate of the Holsten-gate complex.
The bridge's artificial stone-replicas and
vases of Dietrich Jürgen Boy's original
sandstone sculptures from 1774-76
standing on either side of the bridge were
integrated into the newly constructed
bridge from 1907.
