Description

Marble allegorical figure of Germania. She wears the crown of the German empire and a shield the coat-of-arms of the German empire.
The memorial was erected on the occasion of the reestablishment of the German Empire in 1871 and to commemorate those who died in the German-Danish War in 1864, in the war with Austria in 1866 and in the Franco-Prussian War of 1870/1871.

Identical Germania's are in Eltville am Rhein (Hessen) (from 1882) and Tettenweis (Bavaria) (from 1902).
