Description

The expressionist Joseph Görres Monument consists of a simple four-meter-high base made of Rochlitz porphyry and a 5.23-meter-high bronze allegorical figure of a youth looking over the River Rhine with raised right arm. In his left hand he holds a book in front of his chest. The figure is flanked by an eagle, the personification of an interpretation of the admonishing cries of Joseph Görres for freedom and justice. On the side facing the Rhine is a profile relief of Joseph Görres.
