Zar Alexander II. von Russland

Als Zarewitsch und als Zar besuchte Alexander II. von Russland,
ein Neffe von Kaiser Wilhelm I., zwischen 1838 und 1876 immer
wieder Bad Ems.
Meist wohnte er im Haus Vier Türme (Römerstraße 41), gelegentlich
auch im Kurhaus und im Darmstädter Hof.
Den Bau der Russische Kirche förderte er durch eine Stiftung.
Die Büste ist ein Geschenk der Historischen Kaiser-Alexander II.-
Gesellschaft, St. Petersburg, an die Stadt Bad Ems anlässlich ihrer
1125-Jahrfeier im Jahre 2005.
Den Sockel stiftete der Verein für Geschichte,
Denkmal- und Landschaftspflege e.V.
