von Franziska Peter 2020 Hier im Neandertal wurden während der nationalsozialistischen Gewaltherrschaft Menschen, die sich dem NS-regime nicht beugen wollten oder für die Kriegsindustrie arbeiten mussten, verfolgt, gequählt, gefoltert und ermordet. In der „Koburg“ hielt die SA-Standarte Düsseldorf-Mettmann 1933 politische Gegner gefangen und misshandelte sie. Ein Häftling kam durch die Folterungen ums Leben, zwei weitere begingen nach ihre Freilassung Selbstmord. Im „Heim der Ausländsdeutschen“ verhaftete die Gestapo Düsseldorf zwischen 1936 und 1942 deutsche Rückwanderinnen und Rückwanderer aus dem Ausland. Mindestens vier Menschen starben in Konzentrationslagern. In der Kalkindustrie fielen mindestens 33 Zwangsarbeiterinnen und Zwangsarbeiter sowie Kriegsgefangene aus der Sowjetunion und Italien zwischen 1940 und 1945 den unmenschlichten Arbeits- und Lebensbedingungen zum Opfer. Die Würde all dieser Menschen wurde damals in unfassbarer Weise verletzt. Ihr Leben und ihr Tot sollen uns Mahnung und Verpflichtung sein. |

by Franziska Peter 2020 Here in the Neandertal, during the National Socialist dictatorship, people who did not want to bow to the NS regime or had to work for the war industry, were persecuted, tormented, tortured and murdered. In 1933, the SA standard Düsseldorf-Mettmann held political opponents prisoner in the "Koburg" and abused them. One inmate died as a result of the torture, and two others committed suicide after their release. German returnees from abroad were held prisoner by the Gestapo Düsseldorf between 1936 and 1945 in the "Home of Germans from Abroad" At least four people died in concentration camps. In the lime industry died between 1940 and 1945 at least 33 forced laborers as well as prisoners of war from the Soviet Union and Italy under the most inhumane working and living conditions. The dignity of all these people was violated in an unbelievable way. Their life and death should be a warning and an obligation for us. |
