Description

The Saint Urbanus church dates from 1890-93 and was restored (rebuilt) in 1946-1949 after it was heavily damaged during the Second World War The exterior of the church is adorned with two statues. St, Mary at the trumeau of the main portal and St. Urban at the south transept. A second statue for the north transept of St. Augustine is not present.

Trumeau: Maria Immaculata / St. Mary Immaculate Conception, standing on a snake and a crescent moon.

South transept: St. Urbanus / St. Urban, Bishop of Rome (pope Urban I) from 222-230. Often depicted with a bunch of grapes (Wikipedia).
