Bronze cast of 100 year old tree, with in its stem a portrait of Hanns Dieter Hüsch. On his website Hein Driessen wrote (translated):
Everything begins in the Hetter. There stood a 100 year old tree ruin of fascinating beauty. A natural work of art. Driessen had the dead tree dug up and placed in front of his studio on the Rhine promenade. He dedicated this natural monument to his friend Hanns Dieter Hüsch, who was particularly committed to preserving the Hetter nature reserve. The tree is now called Hüsch-Weide. Hein Driessen carved the portrait of his friend into the bark.Near the artwork is a large stone in the pavement with the poem Glück ist ein Geschenk by Hanns Dieter Hüsch.
When the new Emmerich Rhine promenade was laid out, the tree had to go. But Driessen has an idea. Cast in bronze, the Hüsch-Weide is intended to be a monument for eternity and to adorn the new promenade.
