Signature

Equestrian sculpture was sculpted by Gustav Blaeser, most of the figures and reliefs by Hermann Schievelbein; assisted by Alexander Calandrelli, Rudolf Schweinitz and Carl Schuler.

Annotation

The monument was badly damaged in World War II. In 1990 a partial recast with original pieces was placed on the square, and the new pieces made by Raymond Kittl. In 2009 the equestrian statue was lifted back on the unclad base.
