Description

Fountain with a circular central column with four reliefs and an octagonal base with eight reliefs.

Inscription around the central column:

GAUDEAMUS IGITUR JUVENES DUM SUMUS

(Let us rejoice, therefore, while we are young), a popular academic commercium song in many Western countries, mainly sung or performed at university graduation ceremonies.

The reliefs on the central column show allegorical figures for the four faculties.

The reliefs on the base show various aspects of student life:

Originally, there was a bronze student on top of the column.
