Annotation

Originally there was a monument with a bronze plaque made in 1907 by Heinrich Wefing. This plaque was molten in 1942. In the 1950s a new monument was erected, for which a bust was used, which originated from a monument in the east part of Germany, was taken down for melding but somehow escaped that fate and was found again in Herford.
