Description

Fountain depicting three scenes from Werl's history, gathered around a circular fountain basin with in the center the tree of life. The three scenes are:

überführung des gnadenbildes 1661 - the transfer of the miraculous statue of Our Lady from Soest to Werl in 1661. The procession includes
1. an altar boy wearing the standard with the depiction of Our Lady
2. a monk with the censer
3. four monks carrying the statue of Our Lady
4. two town officials
5. two nuns

offizialatsgericht 1450/1821 - the ecclesiastical court, chaired by the Official. Depicted is the judge sitting in his chair receiving papers.
werler münzrecht 1050 bis 1650 - the Werl coinage; depicted are a coin maker and a mint master weighing the coins.

Sculptor

Bonifatius Stirnberg (Freienohl 1933), German sculptor, famous for his fountains where the figures can be adjusted and moved (Wikipedia).
