Description

Ensemble of a fountain and some sculptures in front of Hegener optician:

Brilon - Zeitungsleser und Bürgerbrunnen Brilon - Zeitungsleser und Bürgerbrunnen Brilon - Zeitungsleser und Bürgerbrunnen
  1. Bürgerbrunnen (Citizen's fountain): circular fountain basin with in the center a column on witch a water spouting crowned frog. On the side of the column a coat of arms with the name "An der Brillenmacher 19.." (The Optician). Originally, the centerpiece of the basin was a bronze stork (in 2010 still present). In the basin on circular stones frogs and birds. In the pavement in front of the fountain is bronze seal of Brilon (a city wall with in the gate the two crossed keys of St. Peter).

  2. Bronze statue of a man with glasses reading a newspaper, the "briloner anzeiger" sitting on a bench, his dog is lying next to him. On the outside of the paper a chain with an order is engraved with the text "bleibe treu".
  3. Bronze (?) statue of a little girl sitting on some rocks.
