Description

Stone relief of two couples, flanking some buildings. The text is 1625 Hohes Haus Stiftung - Offermann Stiftung 1443 Sittard Stiftung 1569.
Represented are the donor couples Offermann and Sittard on the left and right. In the middle, an unusually high house is reminiscent of the foundation of the same name from 1335, actually "Gasthaus Heilig Geist". The Offermann Foundation from 1443 is one of the oldest social foundations in Nordrhein-Westfalen. It goes back to the couple Lutgard Amelong and Derik Offermann. The pharmacist Gerhard van Sittard and his second wife Katharina von Bert laid the foundation for their foundation in 1569. The three foundations are shareholders of the retirement home at Willibrordiplatz, which opened in 1955.
