Description

Bronze sculpture of a ferryman with a stick, on a pillar with the coat of arms of Orsoy.

Annotation

This is the third fountain on the spot. The first was placed at the 700th anniversary of Orsoy in 1988, by the Xanten sculptor Hans-Joachim Gramsch. This first fountain was destroyed in an accident in 1998. The same hear a replacement by the sculptor Nikolaus Knupfer was placed (Gramsch died in the mean time). This second fountain was destroyed by a car in 2007. Knupfer made a new one in 2008.
