16th and 19th century |
At the west facade of the tower of St. James' Church are four statues of saints. The figure of the Apostle James is from the 16th century; the two statues of St. John and St. Peter in the middle date from the second half of the 19th century and were created by the Hildesheim sculptor Friedrich Küsthardt (Zeller 1911 mentions that their niches were empty). At the top is the figure of Christ, which is replacing a 16th century statue of St. Mary with Child (Zeller 1911).
