Carl von Ossietzky was überzeugter Demokrat
und Pazifist.
Der Friedensnobelpreisträger des Jahres 1935
setzte sich für Frieden, Humanität und
Menschenrechte ein.
Er starb am 4. Mai 1938 in Berlin
an den Folgen der in den Konzentrationslagern
Sonnenburg bei Küstrin und Esterwegen in der
Nähe von Oldenburg erlittenen Misshandlungen.
