Annotation

The both statues of the Great Elector and his great-grandson Frederick II, were unveiled in the Stadtgarten of Emden in 1901 at the opening of the new outer harbor of Emden, wehre already a monument to Emperor William I was. The statue of William I was lost in World War II, the two other statues were in 1945, after the war, removed at the behest of then-Mayor George Frickenstein and stored at the depot. In 1966 the city of Emden gave the statues to the Drainage Association to place them at the sewage and pumping station at Knock, then under construction.
