Sculpture Tour Jever

The idea for a sculpture tour of Jever originated in the construction of the roundabout at the new Famila market and was taken up by Jever deputy mayor Horst-Dieter Husemann and the artist Andreas Reiberg. The City Sculpture Tour should consist of eleven sculptures near touristic points in the town. The sculptures show a father and child (also described as 'father and son' and 'father and daughter') touring around the town. These sculpture were designed by Adreas Reiberg and made in concrete by sculptor Stephan Schmidt.

Three sculptures are realised:
  1. Come! at the entrance of the town.
  2. Bridging the Street at the Alter Markt.
  3. Looking at the brewery.
The fourth , showing father and child siiting on a bench on the Church Square should be placed in 2014. Because of the crude shape of the sculpture they have become quite controversial. On the Jever-Blog they are called "m„chtigen und klobigen Betonfiguren" (powerful and chunky concrete figures). This fourth sculpture will as yet be the last - if it ever will be placed.
