Erich vom Bruch

Solingen 1886 - Leer 1933
Mayor of Leer, 1920-1933. One of the focal points of his work was the development of Nesse, for which in 1926 the bascule bridge was built, called since 1949 the Vom Bruch Bridge. The Nazis removed him in 1933 with baseless accusations of corruption from his office. He shot himself on May 7, 1933 in the City Hall.
