Description

Two bronze lions flanking the entrance. The different facial expressions of the two lions provoked controversy. So reported the former graduate and later industrialist Johannes Körting, that William Keck, Professor of Mechanics, explained to his students these different facial expressions as followes: The menacing, scowling lion would say something like "Wollt ihr wohl arbeiten!" (Will work you well) and the leisurely, somewhat austere-looking lion "Wir arbeiten ja doch nicht!" (We do not work anyway!).
