Bronze statue on the top of a fountain with bronze lions and dragons. The idealised depiction of Henry carries a model of St Catherine's Church in its original Romanesque version, designed with artistic freedom. The statue rises above the cloverleaf-shaped fountain bowls on a pedestal designed as a bundle of columns, the hexagonal base of which bears the inscription Henricus Leo and the five coats of arms of the Braunschweig quarters of Altstadt, Hagen, Neustadt, Altewiek and Sack. The three lions hold the coats of arms of the House of Guelph (lion, leopard and horse).
