Description

45 metal bars standing in the gound, each with a brick head. The heads were designed by young people and adults from the region and international participants of workshops using photographs of prisoners. On the side of each brick head is a name of the inidividual sculpor. The monument is made during a workshop lead by the artist Marcus Barwitzki, participants of the workshop were 15 young people from Germany, Great Britain, Croatia, Poland, Russia, Spain, the Czech Republic and Ukraine.

The monument was inaugurated 4 September 2015.

N.B. The KZ Wöbbelin was located between Wöbbelin and Ludwigslust in the municipality of Groç Laasch. On the spot is also a memorial, see under Groç Laasch.

Sculptor

Marcus Barwitzki (Staßfurt 1973), German sculptor from Magdeburg.
