Description

Obelisk from 1850 with a relief portrait added at the 100th anniversary of Körner's death in 1913; and the name Theodor Körner 1791-1813.

The obelisk was built after 1850 on the alleged site, where the poet Theodor Körner and other notably known members of the Lützow Free Corps and twelve French soldiers were killed in a fight. On the left of the obelisk is a quotation of Körner's poem 'Ahnungsgrauend (Bundeslied vor der Schlacht)' from Leyer und Schwert (1814)(full text).
