Jo Jastram designed the Fishermen's fountain already in the 1970s for the Market Square. Originally a 140 square meter area was provided for the fountain. For reasons unknown the concept was then not implemented. During the reorganization of the Fischmarkt (fish market) in 1998 the sculptures were used. For reasons of space, together with the artist was agreed for on a smaller version with only three out of the ten sculptures. Three of the seven remaining sculptures, bollard with cat, seagull on a small bollard and fisherman's dog, are still on loan at the Jastram Family.
