Annotation
They were modeled after the statue from the Villa Borghese in Rome, now in the Louvre. Copies with a sword and shield added were made for the Charlottenburg casrle in Berlin. In Putbus copies were placed in 1820 on the Platanenplatz, and since 1828 on the present location. After world war II they were lost. The restorer Carlo Wloch made new casts in 1997, using the Charlottenburg copies as model.
