Description

Marble statue of Prince Wilhelm Malte I in the uniform of a general, erected by his wife. On the sides of the pedestal are reliefs showing scenes from the Prince's life:

  1. Allegory on the art and science during the reign of Wilhelm Malte, probably referring to the construction and opening of a Pedagogium in Putbus.
  2. Count Wilhelm Malte made to Prince of Putbus by the Swedish king Gustav IV Adolf in 1807.

  1. The architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel (center) explains to his fellow artists, the sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen and the painter Carl Wilhelm Kolbe the plans for the Granitz hunting castle.
  2. Wilhelm Malte participates on horseback in the wars of liberation, on the Swedish side, because Rügen belonged to Swedish Pomerania.
