Description

Two dynamically moving bronze figures on a pedestal. A naked youth with far outstrided dance pose, with at his feet a sitting woman, her head proud averted. The sculptor was inspired by a performance of the Russian ballet dancer Vaslav Nijinsky (1889-1950) and Tamara Karsavina (1885-1878). On the base is a medallion portrait of Heine, inscribed HEINRICH | HEINE (this portrait dates from 1947, the original was lost after the monument was dismantled by the Nazis in 1933).
