Description
Entrance portal: Architects
The entrance of the south wing of the New Town Hall on Bethmanstraße is flanked by two bronze statues of Frankfurt architects of the 17th century, sculpted by Hausmann:
- Konrad Koler, architect of the portals of the Römerhof in 1602. He holds a drawing of the portal in his hand.
- Johann Wilhelm Dilich (Kassel 1600 - 1657), Engineer and city architect of Frankfurt from 1628 to 1657, built the fortifications in the Thirty Years' War. He holds a fortification plan in his hand.

At the top of the portal are the heads of Ludwig Neher (1850-1916; Wikipedia) and Franz von Hoven (1842-1924; Wikipedia), the architects of the New Town Hall.

Between the windows of the second and third floors are 23 reliefs showing a half figures representing trades, and important 19th century Frankfurt artists and entrepeneurs, flanked by coats of arms or objects of their trade.
