Description

Sandstone stele with at the top a portrait medaillon of mayor Mönckeberg and on top a bronze lion (reconstruction of 1965 by the sculptor Philipp Harth), referring to Mönckeberg's nickname 'The Lion'. On the front and the sides of the stele are reliefs showing small human figures. The stele is flanked by a man and a woman reclining on a sea lion.
