Description

Two sandstone reliefs of prominent Carmelite saints:

(left) St. Teresa von Ávila, born Teresa Sánchez de Cepeda y Ahumada (Gotarrendura, Ávila 1515 - 1582), prominent Spanish mystic, Carmelite nun (Wikipedia).
(right)St. Johannes vom Kreuz, born Juan de Yepes Alvarez (Fontiveros, Old Castile 1542 - Ubeda, Andalusia 1591), Spanish mystic, Carmelite friar and priest (Wikipedia).

Annotation

Barock church built 1662-1669 by the architects J.B. van der Driesken and Antonio Petrini.
