Description

Bronze statue (5 m high) of the king with the constitution and a sword in his hands. It stands on a 5 m high pedestal of grey syenite with on the corners putti with laurel wreaths and coats-of-arms of the four Bavarian tribes: Bayern (Bavaria), Schwaben (Suabia), Franken (Franconia) and Rheinpfalz (Rhine Palatinate). On the lower part of the pedestal sit four allegorical figures representing four virtues:
Max II Denkmal (München) - Friedensliebe (Loving Peace)

Friedensliebe (Loving Peace), a young man with a palm branch and a cornucopia

Max II Denkmal (München)- Gerechtigkeit (Justice)

Gerechtigkeit (Justice), a woman with book and sword.

Max II Denkmal (München) - Stärke (Strength)

Stärke (Strength), a man with helmet, sword and lion.

Max II Denkmal (München)- Weisheit (Wisdom)

Weisheit (Wisdom), a woman with torch.
