Description

Monument including several elements.

A limestone sculpture of two soldiers: a flag bearer and an infantry soldier. This dates from 1938 and is sculpted by Paul Diesch after design by Wilhelm Kollmar.

Behind the statue is a long wall with the text radolfzell gedenkt der opfer der gewaltherrschaft und der toten aller kriege and seven bronze tablets with the names of the fallen and missing of the two World Wars.

On the right side is an eight tablet with a relief commemorating the German expellees ("Heimatvertriebenen'). It shows of a mother and child looking at the ruins of a town, and the text ob kind dieser stadt ob heimatvertrieben ob im feld auf der flucht in der heimat gefallen, ob mann frau oder kind, vergesset sie nie!
This tablet is designed by Konrad Dombrowski (1896-1985) from Radolfzell and executed by the Stuttgart sculptor Erich Glauer in 1957.
