SPARKASSENBRUNNEN

1919 von Karl Gimmi
vor dem städtischen Sparkassen gebäude erbaut,
wurde in den Kriegsjahren komplett zerstört,
1955 von Professor Alfred Lörcher
in anderer Form neu geschaffen.
Die knieende Frauenskulptur mit Trauben in den Händen
symbolisiert Erntedank, die Inschrift unter dem Trogrand
weist auf die Tugend der schwäbischen Sparsamkeit hin.

Annotation

In this street was built in 1912 the building of the Städtische Sparkasse (Town Savings Bank), in front of this building was placed in 1919 a fountain with the Stuttgarter Rössle. This fountain was destroyed during World War II, and later replaced with the present fountain.
