Fountain with two elephants and many fish in several basins. The many fish, some with attributes as a hat, a camera, or a pipe, symbolize the various "tribes" of the people from Geislingen, the elephants are from the coat-of-arms of the Counts of Helfenstein, who founded Geislingen. Furthermore you'll find a cat, a mouse and Schubart's shoe.
Annotation
The theme of the Trout Fountain is based on a poem
Die Forelle (The Trout) (1782) by Christian Friedrich Daniel Schubart, who lived 1763-69 in Geislingen (see memorial plaque). In the shoe on the basin edge the name and dates christian schubart / *1739 + 1791 are written.
The composer Franz Schubert wrote music for this poem, and used that later in the so-called Forellenquintett.
