The Human Landscape Berlin is an art project installed in 1987 in the Berlin district of Kreuzberg. It is a sculpture trail that leads from the Schlesisches Tor to the May-Ayim-Ufer and contains seven sculpted works of art. The project came about at a sculptors' symposium. The exhibited works deal with the topic "Kreuzberg as a crystallization point for immigration" and were created by six different artists. A path made of granite slabs was laid out between the individual exhibits. The area in which the sculptures were set up was in an open area before the reunification. The symposium and the project were financed by the "art in urban space" budget on the occasion of Berlin's 750th anniversary. It was intended to set a counterpoint to the sculpture boulevard on Kurfürstendamm, which was built in the same year.
