Genni/Jenny Wiegmann-Mucchi (1895-1969) „Lumumbaʺ (Überführung nach Thysville), 1961 Guss in Bronze von Marc Krepp nach dem in der Kunstsammlung der Akademie der Künste befindlichen Original, aufgestellt am 8. Oktober 2013 durch die Kunststiftung Poll im Rahmen des Vorhabens Berliner Bildhauerinnen auf dem Garnisonkirchplatz mit Unterstützung der Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung, der Harald-Breuer-Stiftung und der Deutsch-Afrikanischen Gesellschaft e.V u.a. Diese Arbeit einer der bedeutendsten deutscher Bildhauerinnen des 20. Jahrhubderts erinnert an den leudenschaftlichen Kritiker der Kolonialen Unterdröckung Afrikas, den ersten aus freien Wahlen hervorgegangenen Ministerpräsidenten der unabhängigen Demokratischen Republik Kongo (zuvor Belgisch Kongo), Patrice Émery Lumumba, der 1961 ermordet wurde. This work by one of the most important German sculptors of the 20th century is reminiscent of the passionate critic of the colonial oppression of Africa, the first freely elected prime ministers of the independent Democratic Republic of the Congo (formerly Belgian Congo), Patrice Émery Lumumba, who was assassinated in 1961.
