Three of the "Göttingen Seven", a group of seven professors from Göttingen, who in 1837 protested against the abolition or alteration of the constitution of the Kingdom of Hanover by Ernest Augustus and refused to swear an oath to the new king of Hanover.

Sabina Grzimek Aus dem Wasser Steigender - Der Rufer - Der Denker Teil der Skulpturengruppe „Sieben Gesten des aufrechten Gangesʺ, 1996, Bronze aufgestellt und der Öffentlichkeit übergeben im Rahmen des Vorhabens Berliner Bildhauerinnen auf dem Garnisonkirchplatz am 12. November 2012, 14. Oktober 2014, 14. März 2019 durch die Kunststiftung Poll, hergestellt in der Werkstatt für Kunstguss Marc Krepp in Berlin. Sabina Grzimek erinnert mit dieser Skulpturengruppe an die Protestaktion von sieben Göttinger Gelehrten gegen die Eliminierung der Verfassung im November 1837. Die Künstlerin hat diese Arbeit auch jenen Menschen gewidmet, die um 1989, jenen Jahren des Umbruchs, der Neuorientierung, der Veränderungen und Verwerfungen, Haltung und Würde bewiesen haben. Wir danken allen, die unser Vorhaben bisher unterstützt haben, insbesondere dem Deutschen Gewerkschafttbund (DGB) u. der Senatsverwaltung für Kultur und Europa. Sabina Grzimek Man Rising from the Water - The Caller - The Thinker Part of the sculpture group "Seven Gestures of Walking Upright", 1996, bronze erected and handed over to the public as part of the Berlin female sculptors project on Garrisonkirchplatz on 12 November 2012, 14 October 2014, 14 March 2019 by the Art Foundation Poll, Manufactured in the workshop for art casting Marc Krepp in Berlin. With this group of sculptures, Sabina Grzimek commemorates the protest action by seven Göttingen scholars against the elimination of the constitution in November 1837. The artist also dedicated this work to those people who, around 1989, those years of upheaval, reorientation, change and upheaval, demonstrated their composure and dignity. We would like to thank everyone who has supported our project so far, in particular the German Trade Union Federation (DGB) and the Senate Department for Culture and Europe.
